- People often boil milk when they use it in cooking. You can boil raw milk to kill any harmful cteria. However, boiling milk is usually unnecessary, as most milk in the grocery store is already pasteurized.
- The expression a watched pot never boils means that when we wait for something to happen, it can feel like its taking ‘forever’ to occur.
- Hard-boiled is documented as being first used by Twain in 1886 as an adjective meaning "emotionally hardened." Apparently, Twain and others saw the boiling of an egg to harden the white and yolk as a metaphor for other kinds of hardening.

- If you drop a frog in a pot of boiling water, it will of course frantically try to clamber out. But if you place it gently in a pot of tepid water and turn the heat on low, it will float there quite placidly.

Gilad Bar holds a B.Des. in Visual Communication from Shenkar College of Engineering, Design and Art, Tel Aviv. His education in type design continued with the Expert Class in Type Design (EcTd) at the Plantin Institute of Typography in Antwerp (2024–25) — one of Europe's most rigorous specialist programmes in type education, drawing directly from the historical collections of Museum Plantin-Moretus. A practice driven by the desire to touch history through the present.
